Flow it: in-round flowing
A technology-enabled flow for live collaboration, doc integration, and much more.
About Flow it
Flow it is an online flowing app for debate rounds. It keeps a running record of every argument by speech, lets you share a live flow with your partner, and connects the flow to the speech doc.
Flow it is a digital flowing tool built around the speech doc. Prepare a preflow before the round from a saved flow, a previous round or an uploaded case. Connect to a SpeechDrop room to open your opponents’ docs in the doc viewer, auto-flow their tags and rehighlight their cards.
Upload your blockfiles and backfiles to use your headers and responses as commands, then pull them onto the flow from your docs, Google Drive or Dropbox. As you flow, your round doc updates automatically and goes straight to SpeechDrop, and the speech roadmap keeps the arguments you plan to read in order on screen.
Your backhalf doc stays in sync with the flow, so you can write backlines in either place. Card it search is built in: find evidence, preview the card and insert it into the selected flow cell without leaving the round.
Compared with paper or a spreadsheet flow, a digital flow is legible, searchable and shared: you and your partner see the same flow in real time, and it stays with your prep after the round.
Flow it Premium is $5 a month and is included in Debate it All. The Flow it guides and twelve short video tutorials cover every feature, from sharing a flow to customizing the board layout.
Frequently asked questions
What is Flow it?
Flow it is an online debate flowing app with live collaboration and speech doc integration.
What is the best way to flow a debate round online?
Use a digital flow that lays out columns by speech, lets your partner work on the same flow, and connects to the speech doc. Flow it does all three, plus SpeechDrop and preflows.
Can I flow with my partner online?
Yes. Flow it supports live collaboration on a shared flow.
Does Flow it work with SpeechDrop?
Yes. Connect to a SpeechDrop room to open shared speech docs in the doc viewer, and send your round doc back to the room.
How is Flow it different from flowing in Excel or Google Sheets?
A spreadsheet only holds text. Flow it connects the flow to your speech doc, round doc and blockfiles, and auto-flows tags from your opponents’ docs.
Does Flow it work for PF, LD and policy?
Flow it is built for competitive debate, and you can lay out your flow the way your event needs.
How much does Flow it cost?
Flow it Premium is $5 a month, and Debate it All ($10 a month with a free 1-week trial, or $60 for an 8-month season pass) includes it.
